Summer Mail Forwarding

STUDENT MAIL FORWARDING SERVICE WILL TAKE EFFECT AT THE END OF THE SPRING 2009 ACADEMIC TERM—PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PERMANENT ADDRESS INFORMATION NO LATER THAN MAY 5, 2009.

GW Mail Services will provide mail-forwarding service to students living in the University residence hall system for a period of sixty (60) days commencing at the end of the Spring 2009 academic semester. The start date for mail forwarding service will be May 20, 2009 and mail forwarding service will end on July 19, 2009. It is strongly recommended that students notify all business mailers, personal mailers, magazines, periodicals, and newspapers regarding your change of address and its effective date.  Mail received by GW Mail Services after July 19, 2009 will be “Returned to Sender” as required by USPS rules.

Please be aware that in accordance with USPS rules, magazines, periodicals and newspapers will NOT be forwarded.  Additionally, mail going outside of the United States cannot be forwarded. All mail with international forwarding addresses will be returned to sender.

Please update your permanent address information through the GWeb Portal prior to May 4, 2009.

Please see the easy instructions below for updating your address information through the GWeb Portal:

1. Log into the GWeb Information System.
2. Select “Personal Information” from the Main Menu.
3. Select “Update Address”.
4. Select “Permanent Address” (highlighted in blue) directly below the
   permanent address headline.
5. Make the appropriate address changes at the “update address screen.”
6. Log Out.

If you are staying in the University residence hall system during the summer, please indicate your university residence address as your permanent address.
