About Eco-Challenge

The GW Eco-Challenge is a friendly competition among residence halls to determine which hall can conserve the most water and electricity throughout the academic year. Click here to see the 2008-2009 Results.

Your efforts will directly reduce GW's carbon footprint!

Water and Electric Usage for all residence halls and townhouses will be tracked and posted to this website during four 6-week periods. In addition, each hall's usage will be posted on a bulletin board in their respective hall's lobby. Measurements will be in kilowatt hours and gallons per person so that all halls will compete on an equal footing. If you have any questions or comments, please contact gweco@gwu.edu.

And don't forget about the awesome prizes!!  Last year's winning halls received reusable water bottles, a pizza party, and a basement lounge renovation.  Look for this year's prizes to be announced soon!

START CONSERVING!!! Turn out the lights, take shorter showers, and get your housemates involved too!  Visit the conservation tips page to see how you can make a difference.
