Lead Summer Assistant (LSA) - Summer 2010

The Lead Summer Assistant (LSA) position is a vital position in the overall management of GW's Summer & Conference Housing program, which hosts over 22,000 guests to GW’s campuses during the Summer months. LSAs handle a myriad of customer service issues, work with complex administrative functions, and provide training, supervision, and oversight to a staff of Summer Assistants. This position is a great opportunity to further develop strong leadership skills, excellent customer service skills, and management experience throughout the Summer months.

What's new for Summer 2010

  • Recruitment and hiring of LSA candidates will occur now in the Fall semester, so that they may begin employment at the start of Spring semester.
  • Three LSA Information Sessions have been planned to give prospective candidates the opportunity to learn more about the LSA position from former LSAs.
  • January through Spring Break, hired LSAs will participate in a newly developed and structured training program designed to better orient LSAs to GW's Summer & Conference Housing Program.

How to Apply

GW students interested in applying for the Lead Summer Assistant position should complete the following LSA Application. A completed application is due to GW Housing Programs by 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. All applicants must be submitted on-line.

Many previous LSAs have made great use of this position and used the experience to achieve more in their professional lives.  Some have given their thoughts and advice, which has been compiled HERE.
