Living & Learning Cohorts

Living and Learning Cohorts (LLCs) are student-led interest groups within a particular House, which focus on a year-long investigation of an experiential co-curricular activity. Cohorts enhance the residential experience by connecting it to academic pursuits and providing generous opportunity for self-exploration. Through leadership in an LLC, residents develop a sense of ownership for the success and achievements of their cohort. Resident participation fosters a diverse environment in which interdependent thinkers learn from one another and accomplish ambitious goals.

LLCs for First-Year Students

Each House has thematic LLCs self-generated by students, to maximize the value of their co-curricular experience.  All LLCs will be designed around the goal of completing an experiential learning project for its members. LLCs are provided educational guidance by professional and student staff, and faculty, as they work to develop a business plan and budget proposal for the LLC approval process.

Important Dates: 

• Dec 2nd – Information Session in Thurston Basement at 5pm
• Dec 3rd– Information Session in Ivory Community Room at 5pm
• Dec 11th – Priority Application Deadline.  Application due to gwhouse@gwu.edu by 5:00pm.  The subject line must read LLC APPLICATION

• January 18th-19th - GWHP Approval Meetings
  
• January 21st – Final Application Deadline
• February 11th-12th – LLC Presentations
• February 16th– Notify accepted LLCs.  The Student Coordinators will be notified via email at 5pm.
