GW Housing anticipates that there will be a number of rising second- and third-year students who are placed on a waitlist for housing for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. Offers from the waitlist will begin on a rolling basis after May 8, 2017 and will continue until all students have been assigned to housing.
How Does The Waitlist Work?
Due to the large number of second- and third-year applications coupled with the uniqueness of preferences, a population of unassigned students are placed on a waitlist. As second- and third-year students are required to live in on-campus residential housing, all second- and third-year students will be assigned housing. Students on the waitlist are assigned as space becomes available.
Second- and third-year students on the waitlist are encouraged to log into the housing application and generalize their preferences. In other words, students with very specific preferences (e.g., singles only or multiple roommate preferences) will have a more difficult time being assigned due to the nature of available spaces through cancellations
Fourth-year students who complete a general iHousing application will be automatically placed on a waitlist and will be assigned to space after all second- and third-year students have been assigned. Fourth-year students are not guaranteed housing and can cancel their housing application from the waitlist for no fee.
