Spring 2020: GW Packing Program

With local and state governments continuing to implement movement restrictions and stay home orders in order to limit the spread of COVID-19, the university does not believe it will be safe for students and their families to return to campus in the coming weeks to move out on their own accord. With your safety as our top priority, we have begun a phased building by building process of packing and storing belongings in each residential room with the assistance of a professional moving company.

Thank you for your flexibility and adaptability as the university transitions into a virtual learning period for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. We know that this is not your typical end of year move-out process. It is an unfamiliar and for some, may be a challenge as you balanced your new life and online classes. We hope you understand that the decisions we make are in the best interest of our community so that we do our part to help keep you and your families safe and healthy.

Packing Program FAQs

Communication to Residents

In addition, as we proceed through this process we are including a copy of every email that we send to students. While the general FAQ is helpful, we are making adjustments as we proceed through the buildings based on feedback from students and factoring in the latest guidelines from public health experts and the government. As such, the most up to date information about the packing process for your building – when we get to your building – will be included in the instructions that we send a couple of days in advance and also will be copied here.

As a reminder, only approved students are eligible to remain on campus after Sunday, April 5.
