2026-2027 Housing Registration for Students with DSS Accommodations

All students who have specific, approved room type accommodations are eligible to register during the General Housing Registration Period. Upperclass students with approved housing accommodations may also choose to register early during the Priority Housing Registration Period, ranking a specific DSS list of room types. Eligible room type accommodations include:

• Single (Suite Style) / Single In-Suite
• Single (Non Suite Style) / Private Single
• Single (Any Style)

Note: Students with DSS Housing Accommodations will register during either the Second-Year or Upperclass Student General Housing Registration Period, depending on your rising class-year. Though you will register at the same time as everyone else, students with registered DSS accommodations will be able to rank housing and room type options that meet their specific accommodation.

General Housing Registration Timeline

Students who are eligible to participate in the Room Renewal Registration period, and who are already living in a space that meets their needs, are encouraged to register for housing using the Room Renewal process, so that you can guarantee with peace of mind the room/accommodations you will be assigned to.

Students registering during the General Housing Registration period will be able to access the DSS-ranked preference list of housing options, so long as their DSS accommodations are already approved. 

2026-2027 Housing Rates

Review 2025-2026 housing costs. 2026-2027 housing rates are coming soon, but rest assured that they are capped at a 3% increase. Meal plans and associated rates are published on the GW Dining website, and will be published in February 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions: DSS Housing Registration

What if I am already comfortable in a space that meets my accommodations, and I want to keep it?

The Room Renewal process is highly encouraged for upperclass students with DSS accommodations who are already in a space that fits their needs, so long as your space is eligible to room renew. You can register for that process in the GW Home portal between January 27 and February 10.

What if I am currently in a room that fits my accommodation, but I am not eligible for Room Renewal?

Students who are currently in a room that fits their accommodations and are unable to renew their room should register during the General Housing Registration Period. Our team will still do our best to ensure you are assigned to a space that also fits your needs for the 2026-2027 academic year. 

What if I am approved for DSS housing accommodations after the Housing Registration periods close?

Even if you are not yet approved for accommodations during the registration period, you will still need to register in order to get housing next academic year, and thus you will need to register during either the second-year housing registration or the upperclass housing registration period. 

You will have the chance during general housing registration to rank all room type options that GW offers to your class year. You may rank those room types that meet your accommodation as your first preference. If at all possible, the CLRE Team will still try to honor your DSS accommodation and place you in the correct room type. It is very likely that, at least at first, you will be placed on a waitlist for DSS room types.
