Student Staff Advisory Board
The Student Staff Advisory Board serves as a representative voice for Resident Advisors and Community Assistants within Campus Living & Residential Education. The board works collaboratively with the Director of Residential Education to provide feedback, share perspectives from residential communities, and help enhance the student staff experience.
Through regular meetings and ongoing dialogue, board members help inform decisions related to student staff support, training, communication, recognition, and community engagement.
Our Purpose
The Student Staff Advisory Board exists to:
- Amplify the voices and experiences of Resident Advisors and Community Assistants
- Foster open communication between student staff and Residential Education leadership
- Provide feedback on policies, practices, and initiatives that impact student staff
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the residential experience for both staff and residents
- Support a culture of collaboration, belonging, and continuous improvement
Board Representation
The board is intentionally composed of student staff from a variety of residential communities, class years, and experiences to ensure diverse perspectives are represented in discussions and recommendations.
Working Together
The Student Staff Advisory Board helps ensure that the experiences, ideas, and voices of our student staff inform the future of residential education at GW, strengthening our communities and advancing our commitment to helping every resident feel at home.
